Overview

Our dashboard aims to present the results of the savings generated by Dotted for your accounts. Additionally, through this page, you can track the breakdown of the amount charged on your invoice every month.

Savings Details

The savings details box provides the complete breakdown of costs and reductions generated in the selected month for you, making it easier to understand the amount paid each month and reinforcing our commitment not only to deliver the cost reduction promised by Dotted but also to do so with complete transparency.

Invoice Status Tag

The invoice status tag helps you identify whether the numbers presented for the filtered month correspond to the closed issuance value. If the tag shows as "pending", it means the values have not yet been finalized for that month, indicating they may still change until the invoice is issued. If it shows as "closed", it means the values have been finalized for the filtered period and correspond to the actual outcome and amount that will be paid on the invoice.

Understanding the concepts

To help you understand each value in the savings details, below is a detailed explanation of each concept.

1) On-Demand Cost

On-Demand Cost represent the total value associated with the consumption of services on AWS, including taxes. They reflect the amount that the customer would pay in full if there were no credits or discounts applied to the account. These costs are calculated before deducting any promotional benefits or discounts offered by AWS or other means, providing an insight into the actual expenditure without considering any additional advantages.

How is it calculated?

On-Demand Cost = + + - +

2) Credits

AWS credits are amounts provided to customers to be used on the AWS platform as part of promotions, program benefits, or commercial agreements. They help reduce the costs associated with AWS services and resources.

3) Final Cost

The Final Cost is the final amount on your bill. It already includes the net savings generated by Dotted and taxes.

How is it calculated?

Final Cost = + +

4) Net Savings

Net savings represent the value resulting from discounts generated by actions made by Dotted or the customer on your accounts. These discounts are obtained through the allocation of commitments with reserved instances and maximizing the use of Savings Plans.

How is it calculated?

Net Savings = - -

5) ESR

The ESR (Effective Savings Rate) is the percentage representing the achieved savings resulting from commitments made through Dotted's actions. A higher ESR indicates greater delivered savings.

How is it calculated?

Savings Trend

The savings trend chart demonstrates the historical evolution of the last 12 months starting from the filtered month. In it, you can visualize the comparison of On-Demand Cost, Final Cost, and ESR, allowing for a clearer understanding of the results delivered by Dotted over the months.
