Do NOT delete or modify the CloudFormation (CFN) stacks created in the earlier onboarding steps to join Dotted. These stacks grant essential permissions for Dotted to facilitate real-time buying and selling of Reserved Instances (RIs) and savings plans. These permissions are crucial for providing you with savings and, more importantly, for assisting you in avoiding unnecessary financial commitments. Deleting or modifying these stacks could result in wasted resources and funds with no corresponding benefits. Please exercise caution and refrain from making changes to these critical components.
After your AWS account is integrated into our AWS organization, it may take up to 48 hours for the data to be visible in Cost Explorer. Cost Explorer typically waits until the start of the next UTC day to incorporate the new Cost and Usage Report (CUR) generated daily. This process is triggered each time there is an organizational change.
Within the Dotted App, we leverage the Cost Explorer API to reflect the same information displayed in Cost Explorer, encompassing both costs and Dotted savings. Meanwhile, you can utilize the Dotted app to access and review your historical cost data.
This marks the initial instance where you will receive an invoice from Dotted. Please be aware that our invoice exclusively encompasses your AWS charges from the day you joined our organization until the month's end. AWS will continue to send you their invoice, covering the days preceding your association with Dotted. For additional details on invoices from Dotted, please consult this link.
